Michaela McVetty

Owner + Pilates Instructor
Michaela is a lifelong entrepreneur with a “try everything once” kind of spirit. She opened Sisters Gourmet Deli in 2016, co-founded a tech startup, bought a soda company, moved across the country and back — all with her husband Nick cheering her on. But her true turning point came when she discovered Pilates while trying to heal chronic back pain.

After exhausting every treatment under the sun, Pilates was the first thing that made her feel better — and the first workout she genuinely loved. It didn’t hurt. It made her stronger. It became her favorite habit. She wanted her friends to try it, wanted to talk about it nonstop, and eventually bought a reformer for her house so she could do Pilates anytime she wanted. (Nick was even taking her “classes” before she was certified.)

The only problem? She worked in Midcoast and was driving to Portland multiple times a week because nothing like this existed here. So she decided to build it herself.

Routine is crafted the same way she built Sisters: by designing the kind of space she wants to be in. Big workout rooms, beautiful showers, infrared saunas, red light therapy, Normatec boots, clean + modern design, a schedule that actually works for real people, and a welcoming team that truly cares.

Michaela is a 450-hour certified Pilates instructor (mat, reformer, and chair) and believes everyone deserves to feel good in their body — whether you’re a star athlete or someone’s grandmother who struggles to bend over. Her classes are grounding, challenging, and filled with giggles, inappropriate jokes, and plenty of rap music. Mostly, she just wants you to have as much fun as she’s having.

If you see her at the desk, say hi — she can’t wait to meet you.

Nick Roberge

Owner
Nick has been active his whole life — hockey, tennis, anything competitive from school through college. In his twenties, he found golf and never looked back; it quickly became his number one obsession.

When Michaela started taking Pilates to help her back pain, she’d come home and show him a few moves. Surprisingly… they worked. He started adding quick 20-minute Pilates sessions into his mornings, and almost immediately noticed his usual back tightness easing up. He could move more. He felt better.

As Michaela moved into teaching, Nick had the very enviable benefit of private lessons. They focused on core strength to support all the stretching and releasing he was doing. The result? A back that doesn’t nag him, knees that don’t ache after long days on his feet, and — maybe most importantly — a noticeably better golf game.

For any guys who think Pilates is “just for girls,” Nick has one message: come take a class and see for yourself. He’s watched some of his strongest friends get humbled… and walk out feeling better than they have in years.

Courtney McDonald

Yoga Director
Courtney is a vinyasa flow instructor, personal trainer, and lifelong student deeply committed to holistic health and the transformative power of heat in movement. Her wellness journey began while leading command fitness during her time in the Navy, where she first discovered the power of group fitness to build resilience and relieve stress. After completing her enlistment, she turned to yoga as a personal refuge — ultimately igniting a lifelong passion.

Courtney holds a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification from Well Heart Yoga School, is a certified Buti Yoga instructor, a NASM-certified personal trainer, and holds a Women’s Fitness Specialization through NASM. She is currently completing her 500-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Authentic Movements.

Her classes are known for their commanding yet uplifting energy, fusing dynamic vinyasa flow with purposeful alignment and thoughtfully curated playlists. She empowers students to explore their edges — physically and mentally — in a supportive, heat-enhanced space designed to enhance performance, support detoxification, and cultivate a deeper mind-body connection for growth, healing, and transformation.

In 2017, Courtney moved to Bath and began teaching and managing at Ebb and Flow Yoga. She purchased the studio in 2018 and has been running EF Yoga on Front Street ever since. For nearly a decade, EF has been both her home and the foundation of her community. Many of her most meaningful relationships have grown from that space, and the culture she built there is something she carries with deep pride.

Courtney is excited for Routine to feel like an extension of that sense of home and family. She brings the same genuine culture, professionalism, and respect for the body, breath, and movement — helping Routine cultivate its own character and community on Stanwood Street.

At Routine, Courtney leads the yoga program, mentors teachers, sets the standard for how classes are taught, and helps build the skill and confidence of new instructors.

Rob Halpern

yoga instructor
Rob is a devoted yoga teacher, husband, dad, and lifelong student of the practice who believes deeply in its power to transform both body and mind. Originally from Philadelphia, he made the move to Brunswick, Maine in 2022 with his wife Rinna and their son Sigmund, bringing with him over two decades of experience rooted in consistency, curiosity, and care. Rob was first introduced to the Bikram method in Ithaca, New York in 2000, when something clicked. What began as a practice quickly became a cornerstone- one he’s returned to again and again for its structure, intensity, and therapeutic impact. In 2019, he completed his 200-hour teacher training at Blue Moon Yoga in Fresno, California, solidifying his path as a teacher and deepening his commitment to sharing the work with others. His teaching is grounded, intentional, and deeply supportive. Rob creates a space where students can challenge themselves while feeling safe, seen, and encouraged physically, mentally, and spiritually. He believes the tools developed on the mat extend far beyond the studio, helping people move through their daily lives with more ease, awareness, and resilience. At Routine, Rob brings a steady, passionate presence to the yoga program, sharing his love for the practice and helping students build strength, discipline, and connection through heat and breath. Hannah Day

fitness instructor
Hannah is a strength coach and personal trainer who believes movement is one of the most powerful tools we have to feel strong, capable, and at home in our bodies. She creates a welcoming, no-intimidation environment where you can show up exactly as you are—whether you’re picking up a weight for the first time or building on years of experience. Her approach is grounded in the idea that everyone is an athlete. For Hannah, strength training isn’t just about lifting heavier—it’s about building resilience, confidence, and the kind of strength that carries into everyday life. She first discovered strength training in high school at WFS, where she learned how empowering it can feel to take up space in the weight room. That experience stuck. She went on to earn her degree in Applied Exercise Science and spent several years coaching in Boston, working with everyone from total beginners to experienced lifters, athletes, and pre/postnatal clients. She’s an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer with additional certifications in mental well-being and pre- and post-natal exercise. Today, Hannah works in injury prevention and ergonomics at Bath Iron Works, helping people move better, reduce injury risk, and stay strong for the physical demands of their jobs. That lens shows up in her coaching—expect an emphasis on quality movement, smart progressions, and strength that actually translates. At Routine, Hannah teaches functional strength classes that blend dumbbells, bands, and bodyweight work to build muscle, stability, and control. Expect a thoughtful, well-paced workout, a playlist that ranges from rap to old-school classics, and a few jokes along the way (plus probably what she’s currently cooking or eating that week). Originally from Brunswick and now based in Portland, Hannah is especially excited to be coaching in the community where it all started.

Olivia LeRoy

Director of Brand & Experience + Pilates Instructor
Olivia is the creative heartbeat of Routine — a movement teacher, brand builder, and forever student of “how things feel.” After nearly a decade working as an art director in advertising, she craved something more grounded and human. A Pilates teacher training — taken on a whim during a season of burnout — changed everything.

Olivia grew up in Brunswick before heading out for 13 years in New York City, San Diego, and just about everywhere in between — Montana, Austin, Los Angeles. She moved back to Maine in 2024, and in a cute lil full-circle twist, she attended her first-ever group fitness class many years ago in this very building (yes, at WFS!).

What started as a “maybe this will be fun” training quickly became a full-body yes. Olivia fell in love with the precision, the flow, and the way Pilates made her feel. Within months she was teaching nonstop, swapping late-night production schedules for early-morning mat classes, and realizing she’d found the work she was meant to do.

At Routine, Olivia leads all things brand and experience — from the look and feel of the studio to the tiny details that make it warm, intentional, and beautiful. As an instructor, her classes blend thoughtful sequencing with athletic flow, clear cues, and a playful edge.

Olivia is a 450-hour certified Pilates instructor (mat, reformer, and chair) and is passionate about creating a space where people feel supported, empowered, and at home in their body.

Andrea teaches with warmth, encouragement, and a genuine desire to help people grow. She meets students where they are while gently guiding them to explore their edge- building strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to themselves along the way. Her classes are grounding, supportive, and designed to leave you feeling both challenged and cared for. At Routine, Andrea brings a calming, welcoming presence to the studio, helping create an environment where people can show up exactly as they are and leave feeling better than when they walked in. Over the years, yoga has supported Justine both physically and mentally while opening the door to personal growth and community. With a background in farming and personal experience healing from and managing occupational injuries, she is especially passionate about teaching yoga as a tool for functional movement, body awareness, and overall well-being.
